Bird cage decor trend

I've noticed a trend recently that is making use of vintage bird cages as decor at weddings and various functions. I think it can be particularly beautiful for vintage themed weddings! I found a few examples of awesome bird cage decor at RuffleBlog and StephanieWilliamsBlog. Enjoy!

René & Zion E-session - Llandudno Beach

This engagement shoot was so perfect! I was very worried that it would be a disaster because of the hectic wind along the coast and we were running out of weekends to shoot before their wedding date. Talk about stress! It worked out well and instead of shooting at Oudekraal we moved our location around the bend to Llandudno beach, which was less windy and possibly more beautiful!

Rene and Zion really warmed up to being in front of the camera (one of the many advantages of having an E-session before your wedding!) and we had so much fun shooting at the beach!

I honestly couldn't stop smiling while editing these photos, because I can see how incredibly in love they are and it just warms my heart. Thanks guys - I look forward to shooting your wedding on 27th Feb! xx

Elna & Owen - Rickety Bridge

In December I had the privelage of shooting Elna & Owen's beautiful wedding at Rickety Bridge, Franschhoek. They held the ceremony and the reception at the same venue, which is a small blessing for photographers as we get to spend more time photographing the couple without worrying about driving between venues!

Elna's gorgeous make-up was done by Jane Field - who happens to have the coolest tattoo's, so the make-up application pics look awesome! I also couldn't get over the amazing flowers and decor that Marcel did - it is the kind of look and feel that appeals to my personal taste.

It was quite funny having to de-thorn ourselves after walking between the vines - those things were massive! All in all it was a wonderful hot and happy day spent in the winelands. Thanks guys!

Second shooter for Sybrand Cillié - Louise & Stefan

Louise and Stefan were married in Durbanville and held their wedding reception at Forrest 44 in Stellenbosch. Some of the couple shoot photos were taken at Altydgedacht that was near the church. I had lots of fun assisting Sybrand and learnt so much from this legendary wedding photographer.
